Brooks Williams
7 Sisters
1997
I heard Brooks for the first time at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival
in Hillsdale, NY in July '98. I walked over to the CD tent right after
he played and bought this album, had him sign it (thanks, Brooks!), and
I fell in love with it. Brooks is an incredible guitarist and writes
some great songs. This is the first I've done from him, and I'm not
sure if I got it right, but you can deal. :) Thanks go out to the
Brooks Williams web site for lyrics and tuning. And if you've never
seen Brooks, go do it!

LYRICS:
play intro Seven sisters standing on the valley floor Each one more beautiful than the one before Wandering in these mountains that the glaciers left behind Looking for a path I cannot find Lost in the silence of spring-swollen creeks I stumble upon a stone wall fenced in by trees It's the remnant of a homestead it's a chimney and a stair The trees and vines take back the land as if no one were ever there
CHORUS The coyote's running again in these hills And the salmon's swimming again in the river The trees are returning to the mountainside And if they can come back maybe there's hope for this man
Down in the streets they're selling lies and their preachin' greed They say hey ya wanna find happiness well this is what you need And I've been first in line with my money in my hand Eager to buy everything everything everything I can
CHORUS The coyote's running again in these hills The salmon's swimming again in the river The trees are returning to the mountainside And if they can come back maybe there's hope
BRIDGE Rains come down rivers flood Water turns deep brown richer than blood richer than blood richer than blood
Seven sisters the glaciers left behind All of these years how could I be so blind Seven sisters standing on the valley floor Each one more beautiful than the one before
CHORUS The coyote's running again in these hills And the salmon's swimming again in the river The trees are returning to the mountainside And if they can come back maybe there's hope for this man play ending Maybe there's hope for this man
