Glory Bound
Martin Sexton
Martin Sexton
Black Sheep
1996
Martin Sexton is a God. I saw him on 12-23-97 and he is
absolutely incredible. He has a Golden voice, a wonderful
falsetto, and he is a great performer. This song won the
Boston Music Award for "Best Song/Best Songwriter" in 1997.
So enjoy it. I'm gonna add it to my repertoire. And if
you ever get a chance to see Martin, please do it, because
you will not be disappointed.

LYRICS:
play intro
verse continues similar to intro
Em7 G D Cadd9
Freedom came my way that night
Em7 G D Cadd9
Just like a jet plane in and outta sight
Em7 G D Cadd9
Oh I was haulin' ass at a million miles an hour
Em7 G D Cadd9
Wonderin' how hard I'd hit
same chords until noted
When they came into the station
They said I was bad beyond repair
But I got no qualms with my situation
Em7 G D
Say "here I am"
PRE-CHORUS
Em7 G
So say Cheri Cheri
D Cadd9
Cheri won't you dare to
Em7 G
Say Cheri Cheri
D Cadd9
Cheri won't you dare to
Leave a message and your number please
Tie 'em up all my old fantasies
Put 'em in a big red bow and send 'em care of me
CHORUS
I'm takin' my chance on the wind
I'm packin' up all my bags
Takin' a mistake I gotta make
Oh then I'm glory bound
mmmm hmmm hmmm
use above chords for verse
So I packed it up and I went to the winds
And I lived out of a VW bus for a year or two
Ain't nothin' but a pipe dream and my guitar
Livin' off of apple fields and old cigars
Diggin this microphone checkin' it out every night all alone
Oh the car battery's dead again so I got my head dead set against it
PRE-CHORUS
Sing say Cheri Cheri
Cheri won't you dare to
Say Cheri Cheri
Cheri won't you dare to
Em7 G D
Sing Cheri Cheri
Cadd9
mmm hmmm hmmm yeah
add the interlude here
Leave a message and your number please
Take the time to want to satisfy me
Take all my own fantasies and send 'em care of me
Cadd9
Hey-ay-ay hey
CHORUS
I'm takin' a chance on the wind
I'm packin' up all my bags
Makin' a mistake I gotta make
G Cadd9 D
