Don Henley

Vocals, Drums, Percussion, Keyboards

Born on July 22, 1947 in Gilmer, Texas

Original member of the Eagles

Best work: The Last Resort
Don Henley is obviously the most recognized Eagles member. His voice stood out as "the" lead vocalist for the later Eagles. Henley was probably the best songwriter, and perhaps the best singer, even though he didn't have the best voice. He is a great drummer, with Take it Easy, Hotel California, and Victim of Love standing out in my mind; I also note that he has the great quality of staying out of parts of songs when he should, such as Desperado. Henley also wrote and sang my favorite Eagles song, The Last Resort. Don, I'm glad you gave up English and headed for the big time in L.A. You are truly the backbone of the Eagles.
